Questions, answered.
The essentials about searching, payments, and your photos.
What does People Finder search?
People Finder requests visually similar faces from FaceCheck.ID’s index of public web images. It does not access private accounts, private messages, or a complete copy of the internet.
What should I upload?
Use a clear, well-lit photo with one adult face looking toward the camera. You can crop a larger image before continuing. Use your own photo, or an adult’s photo only with their explicit permission for this processing.
How much does a search cost?
Each search is a one-time purchase. See Pricing for the current price. There is no subscription or recurring payment. Checkout currently charges nothing and returns example results.
What will I receive?
A list of possible visual matches, similarity scores, and links to the public source pages. Results may be incomplete or empty. Open each source to check the context; a similar face does not establish identity.
What does the similarity score mean?
It measures visual resemblance according to the search provider. It is not a probability that two people are the same person, and it is not evidence of identity or wrongdoing.
Do I need an account?
No email or sign-up is required. A random browser reference keeps track of your search credits. Credits belong to this browser, so clearing its storage or changing devices can make them inaccessible. Contact support if that happens.
Are my photos saved?
Cropping happens in your browser. A search sends the cropped image through Cloudflare to FaceCheck.ID. Optional history saves the crop and results on this device only. The provider’s processing and retention are described in our Privacy Policy and Biometric Notice.
Can I delete my search history?
Yes. Open Settings to delete a saved search, clear all history, or turn history off in Privacy choices. Clearing history does not delete provider records or remove images from source websites.
Can I search for a child?
No. You must be 18 or older, and every person whose photo you submit must also be an adult. Do not use the service to identify strangers, stalk someone, or make decisions about employment, credit, housing, or other important opportunities.
Why might a search find nothing?
The photo may be unclear, the face may not appear in the provider’s index, or a source may not be publicly reachable. No matches does not mean that a person has no web presence.
What if a search fails?
Do not repeatedly start the same search. Check your credit balance and contact support with your browser reference if something looks wrong. A no-match result is different from a technical failure; our Refunds & Cancellation Policy explains the distinction.
